Scholastic Book Fair
We will have a book fair starting on Tuesday, September 24 and ending on Friday, September 27. Dogs on school grounds
A reminder to our school community that according to City of Calgary Bylaw on Responsible Pet Ownership dogs are not permitted on school grounds in the City of Calgary or around playgrounds.

To volunteer at school, you must have a current police clearance. If you have previously volunteered at CMS, your police clearance is valid for 5 years.
Please follow the steps below to become a school volunteer:
· Log in to MyCBE, then SchoolEngage.
· Fill out the "Volunteer Registration 2024-25" form.
· Make sure your photo ID is clear and readable and is in the form of a selfie.
· The school will provide you with an ePIC letter for the Police Information Check.
· Go online to the Calgary Police Service's Police Information Check webpage and submit the required information.
· When you receive the results from the Police Information Check, upload the results through SchoolEngage.
· Please inform the school when you have uploaded your results.
Parking at Canyon Meadows
Please be considerate of our neighbours in Canyon Meadows. Do not block driveways, entrances, or alleyways.
Central Fees (bussing, student supplies and lunch supervision)
Central Fees are not yet available to pay. When the fees are available, you can pay them through MyCBE. If you have not yet created MyCBE (parent portal account), please log in to the CBE website and register.
School Based Fees (field trips and residencies e.g. Latin Dance Residency)
Field trip and residency fees will be loaded in to our fee management system throughout the year. When the field trip or residency fee is available to pay, you will be advised. Just by way of explanation, a residency is when a teacher or instructor (not a staff member) comes to the school and teaches a specific subject (e.g. latin dance) for a set period of time (usually 2 to 3 weeks).
End of the day Dismissal
Parents/guardians, you may pick up your child(ren) near their designated doors. Please ensure to allow room for teachers to dismiss students safely.
Just a reminder, the school does not provide after school supervision; please be on time.

School Council
Welcome back to school everyone!
Our first School Council meeting will be held on September 23rd at 6:30pm in the school library. We encourage all parents to attend!
Did you notice all of the new games painted in our outdoor spaces this year? We were able to get these done with some of the fundraising dollars that we brought in last year. We hope these games bring our students a great way to burn some energy and have fun during recess for years to come.
Speaking of fundraising… our first fundraiser starts this week!
Old Dutch order forms will be sent home and emailed to you shortly. This is a great way to save yourself money on snacks and Halloween treats, while making the school some money at the same time.
The last day to have all money and orders in is September 27th.
We need volunteers!!! If you’d like to volunteer at the school in any capacity, please email ecmsvolunteering@gmail.com
Just a reminder that all Canyon Meadows School volunteers must have a current police information check. Please contact the school for further details regarding the police clearance.
