Visit from Dignitaries
A Spanish delegation, accompanied by representatives from Alberta Education and the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) paid us a visit on Friday, October 16. We appreciate their willingness to come and see us. It was a successful visit. We also thank our School Council chair and co-chair, Erica and Robin, who came and supported us.
Halloween
Halloween is just around the corner! Students may wear a costume on Friday, October 30.
We encourage creativity and fun while ensuring costumes remain appropriate for a school setting. Please remember that costumes must be:
· Respectful and inclusive of all cultures, identities, and beliefs.
· Free of masks that cover the face
· Free of weapons or weapon replicas
· Free of violent, graphic, or gory themes
As a reminder, our school follows CBE nutrition guidelines and, therefore, candy, treats, and other food items may not be distributed at school. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain healthy school environments for all students.
We look forward to seeing our students showcase their creativity and school spirit!
Lunch Supervision
Parents/guardians of students who stay at school for lunch must pay the lunch supervision fee. It is $350 for the year; $35 a month. It is available to pay through MyCBE.
Central Fees
The Student Supplies Fee is available to pay through MyCBE. Grade one to five is $40 and Kindergarten is $20. If you have not yet created a MyCBE account (parent portal account), please log in to the CBE website and register.

Thank you to our popcorn volunteers for helping to pop and deliver popcorn for our first popcorn day of the year!
School Council and Society Meeting
Join us for our meeting on Monday, October 26. We will be meeting in the school library at 6:30pm.
Volunteer opportunities
There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the school year. We’ll be asking for help with popcorn days, Healthy Hunger, bake sale, etc.
Volunteers need their police clearance and volunteer form completed to help in the school.

Fundraising
Old Dutch Chips
Chips from our fundraiser will be delivered to the school and available for pick up on Wednesday, October 21 from 2:30pm-4:30pm. Pick up location will be at the back of the school, by the gym doors.
If you are unable to pick up during the allotted time, please email fundraisingecms@gmail.com We do not have the ability to store orders that don’t get picked up.
